Milo in2Cricket Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the Milo in2Cricket Program with Eltham Collegians?
Junior Registration Day for Milo and Junior teams is usually the first Friday of September 3:30-6pm at the Clubrooms.  If you miss this day, you can still register on the first session day in late October/early November.  Please ring 9439-5855 or email Cummane@hotmail.com to register your interest so a gift pack can be ordered and set aside for you.  The session dates will be available on the website.

How old does my child have to be to participate?
The program is for boys and girls generally between 5-10 years old.

What ability is in2Cricket aimed at?
The program is for beginners.  The aim is to have fun, make friends, enjoy sport, and learn new games and skills in cricket like catching, throwing, hitting, and running.  These skills will transfer over to many different sports.

What is the cost?
The total cost is $50.  Payable in cash or cheque made out to Eltham Collegians Cricket Club.  This covers the gift bag cost, which includes a selection of cricket items, shirt, hats, etc.    The gift bags will be available for collection at the first or second session.

When does the program meet?
Ten sessions on Friday evenings from 6-7 pm at the College Main Oval, next to the Eltham College Sports Pavilion on Eltham-Yarra Glen Rd., Research.  This season’s first session is 6 November.

Who runs the program?
The Milo leaders have Level 1 Coaching certification.  They are assisted by a selection of senior players.    This season’s leaders are Leigh Donaldson and Kristian Toulson.

What do I wear?
Comfortable sports clothes and runners.

Can parents help?
Parents are encouraged to come along and help.  Involvement of parents is a key part of the program’s success.  Please speak to the leaders if you would like to help.

What facilities are available at the ground?
Many Friday evenings the Canteen will be open, offering beverages and light snacks.  Toilets and air-conditioned indoor area are also available.

How can my child get involved in cricket after the Milo program?
Eltham Collegians is a member of the Diamond Valley Cricket Association.  We enter
Junior teams in the competition, including Under 12’s, U14’s and U16’s.
Boys and girls often chose to start cricket at the “U12 development” level, where they wear whites, play a real match with some rule modifications, but there is no ladder.
This gives them the chance to develop in a supportive environment and maximize fun and participation.    U12’s train Thursdays 4-5pm, and play Friday evenings from 5-8pm.

How can a parent be involved in the Club?
Many parents play on our senior sides.  Please let your Milo coordinator know if you are interested in playing.  While the Club is affiliated with Eltham College and has a large number of alumni members, it is open to the community.   We are always looking for parents to get involved with the Club and junior program.   Assistance in the way of financial sponsorship, donations for raffle prizes, help in the Canteen, or joining the ECCC Committee are just some of the ways to help.  If you think you could help in some way, please contact Nancy, Jr. Coordinator 9439-5855.
